An Ireland international, Darran was introduced into the sport by the late Lyndon Price. A pastor by trade, Darran met Lyndon when he was chaplain of the Dragons Wheelchair "murderball" side and Lyndon told him that he knew of a sport that he could take part in, this being Wheelchair Rugby League. His skills in the first year at Torfaen earned him a place in the Ireland side. A regular with Torfaen, he's now transferred over to Jets for 2026.
