Leighton comes to the Jets after holding the Welsh League appearance record for Torfaen Tigers, making 24 out of a possible 27 over three years, scoring 28 tries, the second-highest amount for that club, including one six-try haul in 2024.
Leighton is deeply passionate about inclusive sport. Following life-changing surgery in 2011 that resulted in a permanent ileostomy, he began playing wheelchair rugby with Ebbw Vale in 2017. Beyond the rugby league chair, he also serves as chairman of Mardy FC, remaining firmly rooted in community sport.
