South Wales Jets beat Aber Valley Wolves 26-10 in an U12 girls match on Saturday morning to open “Jets Fest”.
It was the first ever girls’ rugby league match in Wales between two club sides from Wales.
In a match that last 20 minutes each way, Jets’ captain Mali Price, who was the player who kicked the match off, scored the first try on six minutes. She scored her second try nine minutes before the end.
Aria McGaughey scored Jets’ second try, with Bella Holloway kicking Jets’ only goal of the game to put the score onto 10-0.
But it was Amelia Hughes who was the star player, scoring a hat-trick of tries.
Wolves scored the final try of each half, the first was from Seren Morris, who also converted, putting the score at 14-6 at half-time. Emily Lee was the final scorer of the match for a consolation.
