The 2024 season will be recognised by South Wales Jets over the next couple of weeks as we present our end of season awards.
Our men’s side went through the regular season unbeaten and were only a couple of conversions away from taking the Grand Final trophy for the second year in a row.
We also successfully ran seven junior sides, which is unprecedented for a new club running children’s sides in the first year of development. Three of the sides were old enough to compete in an organised league and our U12s, after finishing joint top of the table, won the Grand Final.
So, from this year we are naming our men’s side awards after our head coaches. “The Ben Flower Man Of Steel Award” will recognise the top player in the men’s side and the most improved will be named “The Lloyd White Most Improved Player”. Both of these coaches will of course present the awards on Saturday 26th October at our Penallta RFC home.
Jets’ chairman Liam Price said: “I want this to be recognition for the effort that Ben and Lloyd have put into rugby league. These awards will from here on in be named after them.
“I’d also like to take this chance to thank all of our many coaches, parents and volunteers from throughout all age groups in the club. Without you, we’ll have had no club and what we’ve done in just two years has been absolutely outstanding.”
The awards ceremonies will be on the following dates…
