South Wales Jets are delighted to confirm that Ben Flower and Lloyd White will continue to coach the men’s side in the 2024 WRL Men’s League season.
The Jets won the competition last season with a one hundred percent record in 2023 and are determined to continue this year.
The two former Super League stars coached the side in their Challenge Cup match against Stanningley in January and they were pleased with the commitment and determination that the players put in.
“When I joined the club for the one match, I was really surprised with the level of commitment and skills in the side, I knew I wanted to see more,” Flowe admits. “Lloyd I know felt the same, which is why when Liam asked me to come back, I didn’t hesitate to say yes.”
White adds: “When coming back to Wales after playing professionally, I was really delighted to see such a good set-up for junior and senior players in South Wales. Moving to Jets will allow me to help coach a senior side and now the club are also starting juniors, I’ll be involved in that too as I want to give young players the same opportunities I had. It’s a great time to be involved in the sport here.”
Chairman Liam Price said: “It’s great news that Ben and Lloyd have committed to a being with the club on a long-term basis, after what we all thought would just be a one-off game. Already they’ve added so much to the club as a whole behind the scenes with their professionalism, not just in the senior men’s side, but their determination to build a structure to the club with junior sides of all ages. We have hundreds of children interested in playing, most of them new to rugby league and this can only help us remain as a club in the future with kids wanting to play in the first time with two famous coaches.”
