Wales will take on England in a Physical Disability Rugby League (PDRL) international match this Saturday at Penallta RFC, home of the South Wales Jets (kick-off 12.30pm).
This game will be the first in a double header of action that day, with the Jets’ men’s side facing Rhondda Outlaws in a JES Group Rugby League Conference match at 3pm.
It’s the first match in charge for new Wales PDRL head coach Ieuan Griffiths, who will be playing a part in both matches that day as he’s also a coach at the Outlaws.
PDRL is a full contact version of the game adapted for participants with a physical disability who want to access a running version of Rugby League.
Wales first competed in PDRL in the 2022 World Cup and recorded wins over New Zealand and Australia. They have since played annual senior internationals against England as well as matches against other representative sides.
Jets’ chairman Liam Price said: “We’re delighted to be hosting the Wales v England PDRL international match.
“It will be a big day for us as we host a representative match for the first time, and with the Jets hosting Rhondda Outlaws as part of the day, it’ll be a big day out for all fans.”
Tickets for the matches can be bought on the gate for £5 adults, free for u16s.
