Ben Jones to captain Jets for the first time in big game

Ben Jones is set to captain South Wales Jets for the first time, in what will be the biggest game of the JES Group Rugby League Conference season so far, as we take on Aberavon Fighting Irish at Penallta RFC on Saturday (kick-off 2.30pm).

If the Jets win, we finish the season as league leaders. If we lose, Aberavon could overtake us in the final week. We can’t let that happen.

There are no debutants in the Jets side, but a few return as injuries and unavailabilities have forced a shake-up for the Jets.

With regular captain Dean Higgs out this week, Lewis Stevens makes his first start at hooker. Veteran Mike Hurley comes in for his first start since the Stanningley game in the Challenge Cup, Chris Harris returns after missing the Torfaen game last week, Lewis Willcott is back for the first time in six weeks and Zak Williams for the first time in seven! Alex Langworthy is due to make his second appearance, with just the third for both Connor Lloyd and Aaran Lloyd.
