Jets Fest is nearly here! It’s tomorrow at Ammanford RFC, all starting at 10am.
We have matches at U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14 (boys and girls), U16 and senior levels for everyone to enjoy. It will be the biggest festival of participation for rugby league ever seen in Wales with an estimated 400 players all taking to the field in ten levels of rugby league.
The U16s match will see West Wales Jets take on Swansea Rams, but all the other junior matches will be West Wales Jets v South Wales Jets.
There’s been a slight adjustment to timings than originally advertised. As Bridgend are sadly not able to bring an U18 side, the senior JES Group Rugby League Conference match between South Wales Jets and Bridgend Blue Bulls will kick off at 3pm. This will be the culmination of the day in a match that could see the biggest regular season crowd for a Conference encounter in 20 years.
Jets men’s side head coach has named his squad for the encounter. As we’ve not played for three weeks for reasons beyond our control, a bye and a postponement, we need a win to go two points behind our opponents. This game is massive as if we lose, Bridgend and Aberavon will have one foot in the Grand Final each.
There are quite a few changes from our side that played at the Arms Park in what seems like a lifetime ago. Matthew Morgan, Zak Williams and Chris Harris makes their first appearances of the season, whilst Jamie Jenkins, Charley Bodman and Blaine Smith all return after missing the game in Cardiff.
As well as the feast of rugby league, there will be inflatable, face painting, as well as slip and slide for the kids. A barbeque and bar will be open all day.
Admission to the whole day is £6 for non-playing adults. Players and under 16s free.
Tickets can be bought online from skiddle.com and will be valid for the whole day. The price will increase to £7.50 on the day of Jets Fest.
